Plot to Plot

Privacy

The public board shows a variety, plant type, year, county or region, an optional town, quantity, and photos the grower says they took. It never asks for a street address or postcode.

A private thread opens only after both people have pressed a thumb on the same terms. Messages are stored in the shared database. Only those two accounts can read them, and the server checks the signed-in person on every request. The published app is served over HTTPS. This is not end-to-end encryption: messages are stored so they can be delivered. Share an address only with the person you agreed to swap with.

Notices are transactional only: an offer on your post, a counter-offer, a review reminder, an archive warning, and a reply in a private thread. There is no newsletter. They appear in the Notices bell. Creating an account with email sends one confirmation message to that address, and a password reset sends one more if you ask. Google and X sign-in does not send those.

Terms

Plot to Plot is for gifts and swaps between growers in the UK. Nothing here is for sale, and nobody pays the other person for seed. You may only post plants you are allowed to share. Don't post invasive or restricted plants, including Japanese knotweed, and label anything that is toxic if eaten.

The public board shows a county or region, and a town only if you choose to add one. Don't put a street, house number, or postcode on an offer. A private note opens only after both people have agreed the swap, and that is the place for an address. You are responsible for your own postage and for what you send.

Creating an account means you accept these terms and this privacy notice. Because the board shows a county or region, that is personal data under UK GDPR. We use it only to run the swap.

You can delete the messages you sent, and you can delete your account data from My swaps. That removes your offers, the messages you wrote, and the grow notes you filed. Notes other people wrote about a swap stay with them. Report any offer or message with the report button.
